The world premiere of Intimacy by Thomas Bradshaw (Burning), starring Daniel Gerroll (High Society, The Homecoming) is set for a limited off-Broadway engagement at The New Group beginning January 14, 2014. Directed by Scott Elliott (Burning, Blood From A Stone, The Kid), the play will run through to March 8 with opening night slated for January 29.
Along with Gerroll, the cast will also feature Laura Esterman, (Marvin’s Room, TV’s Mildred Pierce), Keith Randolph Smith (Fences), David Anzuelo (Knives and Other Sharp Objects), Austin Cauldwell, Ella Dershowitz and Dea Julien.
The show is a revealing comedy about race, sex and intimacy, exploring what goes on behind closed doors, between the sheets, and sometimes even in front of the camera. Set among three families in a well-manicured, multi-racial American town, Intimacy looks at what happens when secrets and sexual desires suddenly explode and pleasant neighborly relations take some transformative turns.
This production includes set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Scott Elliott, lighting design by Russell H. Champa, sound design by Shane Rettig and video design by Olivia Sebesky. The associate costume designer is Kristi Biglin.
